So this review is probably a year or so late but this series of Wedding Specials was made in the run up to the wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle.
As always the programme is presented by Michael Burke with the help of guest chefs.
Also as usual I will be mostly focusing on the History bit that is always involved.
This time the history bit is presented by Dr Annie Gray and traces the history of a very royal passion, that of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
This episode was very light but still has plenty of facts for those interested in food history and Royal history.
Rating: 10/10.
Review: Royal Recipes: Wedding Special: Episode 2.
As before I will be zeroing in on the history bit. I can say the rest of the episode also has facts and will entertain any fan of food history.
The history bit in this episode is sadly lacking and instead we get a look at Royal engagement rings.
Rating: 2/10 interesting but lacking core information.
Review: Royal Recipes: Wedding Special: Episode 3.
Another episode lacking a real history bit.
Rating: 2/10.
Review: Royal Recipes: Wedding Special: Episode 4.
Another lazy episode missing a real history bit.
Rating: 2/10.
Review: Royal Recipes: Wedding Special: Episode 5.
The final episode in the series. This episode is very much made out of recipes but does have a proper history bit which is what I will be focusing on.
Again the proper history bit is presented by Dr Annie Gray who is looking at an unusual Royal Bride: Queen Victoria’s youngest daughter – Beatrice.
This is a fascinating bit of history and one everyone should watch.
