Presented by Professor Kate Williams with her usual mix of great intelligence and passion. Episode 1 looks at the reign of James 1 and the Gunpowder Plot.
A fascinating episode and a strong start for the new series.
Rating: 10/10.

The second episode in this brand new series looking at the reign of The Stuarts through the impact on the lives of the Winn family of North Wales.
This episode looks at the reign of Charles 1 and the Civil War that followed.
Kate Williams is a natural storyteller and, although I know plenty about the Stuarts, manages to breathe new life into her subject.
A real gem of a series.

Review: The Stuarts: A Bloody Reign: Ep 3.
The third episode in a four part series looking at the reigns of the Stuarts and the impact it had on the Winn family of North Wales.
This episode looks at the restoration and the rule and reign of Charles the Second.
Kate’s passion for her subject shines through in this episode just as much as it has in the first two episodes.
There is a little acting and some talking heads to aid our understanding.
Rating: 10/10.
Review: The Stuarts: A Bloody Reign: Ep 4.
The final episode in the series looking at the impact that the years that the Stuarts reigned had on the Wynn family in North Wales.
As with the last episode there is a few talking heads and section of acting.
The majority of the episode however is presented by Professor Kate Williams who makes the already interesting subject all the more fascinating.
